5 HP 3450 RPM 208-230 VAC 56 FRAME COMPRESSOR DUTY MOTOR Brand new, LEESON ELECTRIC model 116523 Special duty motor designed to replace motors on compressors. Motor is rated for a breakdown torque of 5 HP and a continuous compressor duty at 3 HP. Overload protection with manual reset. Steel frame and base. Welded base. Capacitor start/capacitor run.
Confirm your motor name plate data tag including voltage, amperage, speed, frame and shaft diameter to match this motor specifications for proper operation.
Power 5 HP Definite Purpose Special Compressor Duty
please recommend a pump flange and love joy to mate this motor to hydraulic pump, part number : 9-7503-16 thanks,
A: We do not recommend this motor for use with that pump, as it will not have enough power to drive the shift into the high-pressure function. Additionally, it is not rated for the duty cycle at which hydraulic pump drives operate.

is this a replacement motor for emerson part number 54421193 thanks
A: No. You would need to look at 10-2621 for a comparable motor.

I have a sanborn 2 stage compressor and all the original motor numbers match up with the exception of the amperage. yours is 15amps and mine is 22 amps. will your electric motor work for my compressor?
A: If the current does not match and our is lower, it will likely be lower horsepower and there is a good chance that it will not work.

have this 5 hp motor running 2 stage compressor,, need new presure switch wich one do I need ?
A: It would be best to use the 4-1823-series. It's still a little light for the startup current, but it's the highest rated that we have. You then have the options for on/off pressure ranges and single or 4 port models.

How much wall space do you need for this motor
A: This links to the drawing of the motor from the manufacturer. Use the -756 dimensions where applicable.

Would like to know were to hook my black and white wire.i don't know what CCW and CW mean.can u just tell me the numbers so I can get this over please.thnx
A: One line of 230 VAC power will go to LINE 1(1). The other line of 230 VAC power will go to LINE 2 (4). With Black also connected to LINE 2 (4) and Red connected to (2) the motor will turn CW-clockwise facing shaft-turns to the right. If the opposite rotation is needed switch the Black and Red wire positions with each other.

Is this motor a replacement for an Emerson 56283138? Thanks
A: From the information regarding that particular motor model available on the internet, it appears our motor draws significantly less current and would not perform the same to replace it. That model and replacements for it appear to pull 20-22 amps, and ours only pulls 15.

Could this motor be coupled with a 16 gpm log splitter pump used in a press application?
A: No, this motor doesn't have the horsepower to shift the pump into the high pressure side. It is also not suited to the duty cycle for driving a hydraulic pump.

what does service factor refer to?
A: NEMA standards define service factor as:
Motor Service Factor (SF) is the percentage of overloading the motor can handle for short periods when operating normally within the correct voltage tolerances.
Operating a motor at loads greater than it's nameplate horsepower for extended periods will lead to shortened motor life/failure.

is there a wiring diagram for this motor ?
A: There is a wiring diagram on the nameplate of the motor.

Where is this motor manufactured ?
A: This motor is made in the U.S.A.

do you have a similar motor compared with10-2621 that would have a 7/8 shaft and reversible??? that would drive a large face planer??? also when listing rotation , are you facing shaft or( wire end) le to determine direction??? thanks paul
A: Air compressor motors are specifically built for that application and not recommended for other uses such as a planer. They are for high starting loads and lower running loads while a planer is just the opposite. Item 10-2753 would be better although it does have a 1-1/8" dia. shaft.

Is there any reason I can't use this motor on a table saw (assuming it physically fits?).
A: This motor is specifically built for air compressors. It has high starting torque but less for running and would not be recommended for use with a table saw.

Do you 5hp 1ph 3450 rpm motor in c face type?
A: Yes, please see item 10-2887.

Is this motor single-phase or three-phase?
A: This is a single phase motor.

What is the warranty on this motor??
A: One year warranty.

do I need, or is it recommended that I have, a separate magnetic motor starter to run this motor?
A: Most times these are just used with a pressure switch that has heavy enough contacts for the motor amperage. A magnetic starter would be better solution for long life.
