Brand new, Cross hydraulic gear motor. Model 40MH07DACSC. Pressure balanced loading plates for high efficiency. Aluminum body for good heat dissipation. Pressure lubricated Teflon impregnated sleeve bearings. Internal check valves eliminate need for case drain at shaft seal pressures under 250 PSI.
The motor I'm replacing with this motor doesn't have a drain port . Will it work with the drain port plugged
A: If it is operated by itself and not in series with any other motor, it will work without having the case drain connected.

0.75 cu in Cross Hydraulic Motor 40MH07DACSC Item Number: 9-7073-75 Would a 21.3 gpm pto pump overdrive this motor and cause problems. Can a bypass be added to lower the gpm to be reduced to 8 gpm?
A: Yes, 21.3 gpm would be over twice what is required to turn this motor 3000 rpm and would cause severe damage if used without regulation. A flow control or priority divider could be used to limit the flow reaching the motor and keep it within the specified range.

What is the max temperature this motor can run without damaging it? It's being used near a running engine and heats up to 130 degrees. It's working great, just want to keep it that way. Might need a shield if it can't handle those temps long-term. Thanks!
A: Hydraulic fluid temperatures can typically safely operate at up to 180° Fahrenheit before causing thermal damage to Buna-N/Nitrile seal materials in components.

What is the maximum flow rate for this motor at 2,000 psi and what speed (rpms) would that motor produce at that max flow rate? I'd also like to know that torque at that speed, if available. Thanks.
A: The maximum rpm limit for this motor is 3000. That would define the maximum flow rate limit as 9.74 gpm. At 2000 psi you could expect to see approximately 224 in/lbs of torque.

A) Where is the drain port -- your drawing doesn't show it clearly, although there is a bump on the bottom that might be it. So,is it bottom or back? B) What's the shaft key size? Thanks, Jim
A: The drain port is that unmarked port on the bottom. The key is a 3/16" Woodruff key.

Hello, Is this motor rated for side loading applications? I am looking to replace the hydraulic motor on my mower deck and believe this will be a good fit provided it can withstand the side loading from the drive belt.
A: The shaft is supported by a pressure lubricated, Teflon impregnated sleeve bearing. The manufacturer states that to get maximum life from any side loaded application, keep the loading as close to the body of the motor as possible, and to keep the loading vector in the quadrant radiating from a line centered directly above the shaft, with the pump oriented shaft facing observer, belly (idler gear side) down.
