56C/145TC TO 4F17 PUMP MOUNT Brand new, Hydra-Mount model E501-A4 aluminum alloy pump mount for connecting standard NEMA frame electric motors with 5-7/8" bolt circle (see frame numbers below) to hydraulic pumps with 4F17 (2" square bolt pattern with 1.78" pilot) flange. One access opening with cover plate.
where do I find the couplers for motor to hydraulic pump?
A: Most often 3 piece L jaw couplings are used. Please follow this link. http://www.surpluscenter.com/Power-Transmission/Shaft-Couplers/3-Piece-Flexible-Jaw-Couplers/

I want to mate an electric motor to a hydraulic gear pump. The motor is a 145TC frame Leeson (purchased from Surplus Center). The pump is a gear pump with a 4F17 flange. I was thinking to use a motor to hydraulic pump mount (Surplus Center part # 1-3246), jaw coupling halves (part # 1-3421-J and 1-3421-E), and a urethane insert (part # 1-3421-UR). Would this work? My concern is that the total length of the shafts and coupling stack is too long for the pump mount (your site recommends a clearance of 1/16 - 1/2"). Your site suggests using an insert with a through hole. Does Surplus Center carry such an item? I'd rather not shorten the motor shaft if I don't have to. PS: the shaft length of the motor is 2.125", 7/8" diameter; pump shaft is 1.5", diameter is 1/2" (both shaft lengths are tip of shaft to face of motor or pump). Motor has keyway of 3/16". Pump has keyway of 1/8". Any suggestions as to how to mate these two.
