Good day. Im thinking of buying the 16 gpm pump. Could u please explain how the rotation is for this pump it state is CW. The motor I’m thinking of using is a Loncin 420 cc rated to 13/15hp. The engine dealer is saying the shaft turns ant cw (Left)seen from PTO shaft. Please explain if this pump will work on this engine, and how derection is determined inside the pump.
A: Shaft rotation is always determined with the shaft pointing at you.

Although not a question, but instead a review. I recently purchased one of these to replace the pump on my logsplitter. It is a 25 ton manufactured by cnsuperpower.com and wears a Black Diamond label available at most farm supply type stores. The original PRC made aluminum body pump had gear failure. I replace it with this USA made cast iron pump. Although recommended for 8HP engines, mine works well even with the smaller Kohler 6.5hp. A slight increase in volume on the low side helps with speed. The high side is about the same as the original pump. Very happy so far. Perhaps others will find this pump to be a good replacement for theirs as well. Thanks Surplus Center
A: Thank you!

What is the efficiency rating on this pump?
A: The manufacturer does not list an efficiency rating for this series of pumps.
At half speed (1725 RPM) would a 5 hp electric motor be sufficient to drive this pump at half the rated GPM and 3000 psi? A true 21 amp 230 volt 5 hp electric motor.
A: Yes, it should be fine at that speed and pressure.

I'm looking to couple this up to a 18hp Wisconsin engine. It has a 1/7/16" shaft with a 3/8 key. What coupling would I need. It will be replacing my pump on my log splitter. Existing pump was coupled with a drive shaft but the pump shaft is 3/4". I would have to bush this new pump to reuse the existing drive shaft. It has u joint's. What are your recommendations.
A: We have no coupling solutions for this application, unfortunately. Your mentioned solution may be the best way.

Hi, can this pump be mounted in a belt-drive application? thanks.
A: This pump can only be direct driven as it will not tolerate side load on the shaft. If you must belt drive it you could use a jackshaft with a pillow block bearing at each end and the pulley in the middle, then direct couple the pump shaft to the jackshaft.

I recently purchased hydraulic pump ( item number 9-7972-16) from you and am trying to determine which pump mount to purchase -- This would be for the engine to pump mount. I am looking at ITEM NUMBER: 1-3239 for this. I have confirmed 6.5" mounting bolt distance on the engine. I also need a shaft coupling set for this. The engine shaft is 1" diameter and engine hp is 13. Please verify selection of the mount and suggest a shaft coupler that I should purchase for this Thanks, John Fulreader
A: Yes, the 1-3239 is the correct bracket. For the coupling use items 1-3616-E, 1-3616-M and 1-3616-X.
