A: No, this valve does not come with SAE 4 fittings. We do have adapters (9-6410-8-4) to convert them.

I need this valve but with the detent float in both spools what would that valve number be ? Thanks
A: We do not carry a valve with float detent in both spools.

If the power beyond hydraulic circuit that feeds this valve is protected by its own relief valve, is there any reason to use the relief valve/tank port on this valve since the circuit is already protected?
A: If the system is protected by a main system relief valve elsewhere, the onboard relief valve can be adjusted to a setting higher than that main relief, allowing it to protect the system instead of the valve relief. The return line of every individual valve in the stream *must* be plumbed with passage to tank to allow for return flow from any actuator used on that valve.

The ports for this valve are SAE 8 while the ports on the cylinders are SAE 6. What is the best way to match these sizes with the hydraulic lines?
A: The easiest way would be to use an SAE/JIC adapter, such as 9-6400-6-8. We also have elbow fittings that make the same size jump.

Can the float feature be moved to selector #2?
A: No. The spools are factory fit and cannot be changed.

is there a leak down rate for this valve?
A: The series is stated to have a maximum spool leakage rate of 3 cc/min @ 1500 PSI to pass quality control.

What do you recommend for a snowblower - float or no float? Thanks
A: We cannot recommend or determine suitability for you. Functionally, float would allow the blade to follow the ground. Having no float would fix the blade in a position.

Can spool 2 be used with a single acting cylinder?
A: If the unused work port output on the spool operating it is plumbed into the return line, yes.

What is the float feature about, can you explain the differences between this valve and the other Prince valve without the float? Thanks, Richard
A: When a valve has a float option this is a 4th position for the lever and it locks into this. It allows the cylinder that is being controlled to float up and down rather than being locked into position (which it would be in the center position). Most commonly used to allow the lift arms on a loader to float when running along the ground.
