can I get the same motor with 400 rpm?

A: No we do not have this motor with 400 RPM.

Can you tell me if this unit is a good R&R motor for SC# 5-1842?

A: Yes it is.

Is this a brushless motor or a brushed motor, I want to know for the type of speed control to get to operate it. Thanks.

A: This is a brushed motor.

Can I run this motor continually using a speed controller, at 50 to 120 revs?

A: While the motor is rated to operate continuously at the nameplate voltage and speed, we have no information to state definitively that it will tolerate continuous operation at reduced voltage, or operate correctly when used with a speed control.

I want to run this, or another DC motor at 40 to 120 RPM"S, continuously, with probably only 1/6 HP load, will this motor work continuously in that rev range with a DC variable speed control? Derek.

A: That is unknown. We have very little information about these motors and their off-label capabilities.

what is the smallest wheel but I could put on this motor such that the wheel will touch the ground?

A: The shaft centerline height is 2-1/32". Any wheel that could work would have to be at least twice that in diameter, and have a 14mm bore. We do not currently have any solution for that exact application.

I wish the slower this motor down even more with a 20 to 1 gearbox. What information do I need to figure out which gearbox would fit?

A: We have no gearboxes that would fit the mount on this motor's output. The only option available would be to couple the output shaft to a shaft input gearbox, keeping in mind the torque limitations of the rated gearbox input.

Is the output shaft ball bearing supported? Also, is there a stated radial load value?

A: It does appear to be a ball bearing, but we have no information confirming that or any applicable load rating. These were direct coupled to a linear actuator that adjusted a large solar array and were not subjected to side load in its intended application.

What is the temperature rating for this motor?

A: This is a surplus motor and we have no information regarding the operating range or insulation class.

if the inline gearbox were taken off, would this motor work for a generator setup?

A: If there is a shaft that could be worked with, and was supported by a bearing, it is possible. Most permanent magnet motors are capable of generation.
