I am going to use this motor to drive a gear pump that I also ordered from Surplus Center your item 9-7764-B, GPF1027PC which is shown to be CW for rotation. Based on the answer you have re. rotation would I want to wire the motor to also rotate CW from Leeson's wiring diagram? This would be CCW when facing the motor shaft. Not sure what is meant by the phrase "Rotation Facing Lead End".

A: That sounds correct. 'Rotation as facing lead end' is also described as 'Opposite power end'. It typically is understood as the back end of the motor where the leads come out. Wire it how you the diagram states for the intended rotation and bench test it for correct rotation.

What is the process to determine the rotation direction?

A: We determine rotation direction as facing the shaft. The manufacturer's wiring states rotation as facing the lead end, which is opposite the shaft.
