show picture of starter. is there a spring shown to drive the gear back down once the engine starts. or a starter diagram. tks

A: The starter uses a spiraled drive to engage the gear on the flywheel. Pictures detailing this will are forthcoming. No prints of the starter are available.

What is the hp of a 190cc 8.75

A: HP (calculated) 5.5 @ 3600 RPM

would tis fit on a john deere 65 tractor mower V50-60234 was tecumseh 5 hp ? j

A: We have no information regarding what this was intended to fit or replace.

Want to use this engine for my wood splitter. Is there a on off switch for the motor?

A: There is no kill switch on the engine itself. There does appear to be a wire that would be operated by a remote kill switch.

Can the recoil start be used and not hook up the starter? Does this have an integral alternator?

A: Yes, the recoil start can be used. The starter does not have to be hooked up. This engine does have a 1/2 amp alternator.

Does this crankshaft have two keyways ??? ( woodruff and square ) THANKS

A: Yes.

can standard grass cutting hub and blade be mounted on shaft?

A: If it is the correct shaft size, length, and key for the standard hub and blade, then yes.

Is it 4-cycle and can it be converted to variable throttle?

A: This engine is 4-cycle. It is unknown if it can be converted to a variable throttle.

looking down at the top of the engine, which direction does the shaft rotate? CW or CCW? thanks

A: Facing into the shaft the rotation is CCW. If you are above the engine, facing opposite the shaft, it would appear to turn CW.

does this engine need a battery to run if I don't use the electric starter?

A: No, it does not.

I need a Briggs 8.75 motor for toro one inch shift

A: We do not have this engine with a 1" shaft.

Is the length of the shaft start from the base of motor to the end of the shaft? I have a Bob Cat push mower and am not sure if this motor's shaft is the correct length.

A: The shaft is 1-13/16" long.

hi, does this engine come with a manual? when you say electric start, can I just connect it to a 12v battery and a switch? thanks, august

A: It is not furnished with a manual. They can usually be downloaded from the engine manufacturer's website. Wiring is specified by the mower manufacturer. It is usually simple to follow the wires to determine where to connect power and a switch.

Will this engine work on a 2001 craftsman lawn tractor

A: We don't have any application info for engines. If the HP and crankshaft dimensions are the same it could probably be used.

My lawn mower came originally with the 6.75 engine. I'd like to replace it with the 8.75. Would this be possible. I see the shafts are different is size. Would this matter?

A: It would probably fit but the different crankshaft shaft size would require changing the blade mounting components along with possibly other parts.
