Brand new, Cross hydraulic gear motor. Model 40MH15DACSC. Pressure balanced loading plates for high efficiency. Aluminum body for good heat dissipation. Pressure lubricated Teflon impregnated sleeve bearings. Internal check valves eliminate need for case drain at shaft seal pressures under 250 PSI.
This motor is rated at 16 HP would that be the same as a gas engine at 16 HP?

I HAVE A 25 HP ENGINE RUNNING A CROSS ALPA2D16 PUMP PUTTING OUT 16.4GPM DISPLACEMENT 11.5 @1500 RPM.WILL THIS MOTOR WORK FOR A WEED WACKER ? NEED TO HAVE AROUND 2500-3000 RPM? WITHOUT BLOWING SEALS OUT?
A: That pump has a displacement of 11.5 cubic centimeters/revolution. That translates to 10.91 gpm at the gas engine top speed of 3600 rpm. With 25 Hp you can drive this motor at 1680 rpm at a max pressure of 2500 psi before consuming all available engine power and killing the engine. With the described pump you could expect to see around 2500 rpm with item 9-7073-100. A smaller motor would turn in excess of the 3000 rpm limit. All figures are without losses calculated. We cannot state the suitability of any of these products in the application stated.
