How would pulley size affect gpm and psi? I noticed the more gpm the less psi.
A: Of the two clutch pump models we carry, the higher volume pump does have a lower overall pressure rating. This is not due to the pulley size, but rather the limitations of the base model pump being used. The smaller version is a 1.45 in³ pump, with this pump being 2.32 in³. For pumps in general, speed is directly proportional to output; with pressure being limited by both design and available horsepower.

Will this work on a wrecker truck it has a single hook and with a Ramsey winch and a wheel lift thank you
A: This would be a good source of hydraulic power for use on your truck. It has sufficient flow and pressure for both your functions.

Does the resevior have to be mounted higher than the pump? (if installed on a straight truck, could it be on the engine, and the tank behind the cab on the frame) Thank you. Rick
A: It is always best to have the fluid flow downward from the reservoir to the pump but this can be difficult for pumps mounted under the hood. As long as the pump is not starved for oil alternate mounting would be acceptable.
