Showing Questions of 3

Why is the return at the bottom of the tank.

A: With the return at the bottom of the tank, the incoming fluid is below the lowest level of fluid in the tank, minimizing air entrainment and frothing. The baffle in the tank slows down and redirects the flow path from Return to Suction allowing for the longest possible dwell time in tank to help cooling and the escape of entrained air.

Do the 25 gal tanks come with baffle? Also breather port on top?

A: Yes.

Does it matter which port is used for suction and return?

A: As long as the fitting and hose size is large enough to adequately supply the pump without cavitation or higher vacuum/suction levels, no. Ideally the tank should be mounted so the fluid flows down out of the tank into the pump so the pump has to generate as little suction as possible.
