Will this valve work on a John Deere 4440 tractor with hydraulic pump rated at 23GPM?
A: No. More so than simply being rated for less flow, this valve is Open Center and your system is Closed Center. This valve will cause your tractor system to work constantly and overheat. This valve is not convertible. Item 9-6701 with 9-4895-C installed will be Closed Center and handle the flow.

I need to actuate valve.for pressure up and down but need float when in center position
A: Item 9-6766 is classified as a motor spool, meaning the work ports are open to tank in neutral. This is the same function as the detented float position in other valves. When used with a motor, this would allow it to freewheel. When used with a cylinder, that cylinder would not hold a load in any position while in neutral.

hello can this valve be used to control a double ended cyl in a steering situation,,, I don't want to use a steering valve as normaly used as I have handlebars and not a steering wheel ,, this is a very light vehicle with moderate power... any help will be appreciated very muvh
A: Yes, this could control a double ended cylinder. Whenever the lever is released it would be spring loaded to the center position and the cylinder would be held in place.
