1/2 NPT HYD RELIEF VALVE Brand new, PRINCE model RV-4H inline relief valve. Differential poppet design provides smooth and quiet performance with a minimum variation between cracking and full pressure.
I’m going to use this relief valve for a thumb installation. Will this valve open if the pressure comes from the load side as well which thumbs do? I’m also installing a dual crossover in the system.
A: Yes, the valve will open from either side of the pressure passage.

is the tank port also checked to keep out back pressure
A: It is not. Typically the drain is plumbed into a return/tank line which should not see back pressure. If your application may produce back pressure to the drain line it may affect the operation of the valve.

is there a port to put a gauge to check pressure
A: There is not. A gauge would have to be teed into the pressure line.

Do you have installation instructions for this valve? I'm wondering so I make sure I'm buying the correct product.
A: There are three ports, two of them inline and one offset. There are arrows and the word 'Pressure' between the two ports that are in line. Install the valve in the pressure line using these ports. The offset port is the relief dump line back to return/tank. That port can be plumbed into any low pressure return line that goes back to tank, or plumbed directly to tank.

How do you adjust the setting?
A: Remove the small hex castle nut in line with the tank port. Loosen the jam nut on the threaded stem. Using a hex wrench, tighten or loosen the threaded stem to the desired pressure within the operating range. Tighten the jam nut and replace the castle nut.

I received this valve but am unsure how to adjust it. Could you give me some kind of instructions?
A: Remove the castle nut, loosen the jam nut, adjust the stem to desired pressure as you read the gauge, tighten the jam nut, replace the castle nut.

Do you have a pressure relief valve that is easy to adjust (knob adjust)? Similar to the Cross RV23C? Thanks
A: We don't have anything with a knob. This one just takes an allen wrench to adjust.
