1:1.93 SPEED INCREASER

Brand new, OMNI GEAR series RC-51 right angle rotary cutter gearbox. Horizontal input and vertical output downward. Bevel gears. Large deep groove ball bearings to support output. Four 5/16"-18 tapped holes on 3-5/16" dia. B.C. around input shaft. Non-standard hub. Ships without oil, user must add oil prior to use per user‘s manual.

Which gear ratio is better for torque. 1:1.97 or 1:1.47. which one will give me more torque for cutting thick grasses..I have a 5 ft cutter and need a new gear box ..it is a howse cutter 500

A: We cannot state what may be best for that application. The box is rated for the same torque, but the output speed is faster with the 1:1.93. It appears the Howse 500 was supplied with a 1:1.47 ratio box.

what is part # for output shaft seal?

A: We have no parts information available. Contacting Omni Gear may be the best way to get that information.

Do you have the RC51 in a 1/1.47 ratio (25088 I think)

A: We do not, no. The closest we have is the RC-61 with a 1:1.46 ratio. (item 13-1532)

Do you have RC51 rated 60HPv4v4

A: No. According to the manufacturer literature, the upper limit of the RC-51 is 40 Hp. To handle 60 Hp would require at least the RC-61 box.

40 hp is the maximum that power that this gear box is rated for? Any safety % built in ?

A: While there may be a safety factor engineered into them, the manufacturer's literature does not state what, if any, there is. We do not suggest running this box on a load that will induce over 40 HP to overcome it at the rated RPM.
