I see this rated for 28 hp@1000 rpm . The application I am looking to use it on turns 3600 rpm but only 22 hp , does the rpm matter?
A: Yes, this joint has a maximum rpm of 1000. We cannot recommend using it at 3600 rpm. It may lead to catastrophic failure.

How deep is the part that the shaft mates up with? In other words, how far until the shaft bottom out against the yoke?
A: If the joint is aligned, on the zirc side it bottoms out at 2.625", and on the other side it bottoms out against the cross at 3". If there is any flexion in operation, those measurements will be less as the ears intrude into that space.
