DOUBLE ROLLER CHAIN COUPLER
Brand new. Three piece double roller chain coupler. Consists of two sprockets connected together with double roller chain. Sold as set. Select the proper bore size for each sprocket to fit the shafts being coupled together. For reversing operation, shock, pulsating loads or other severe operating conditions select the next larger coupling size. Furnished with standard keyway and setscrew.

I am looking for a (73 HP Double Roller Chain Coupler 40P 16T) with a 1 inch drive on one side and a 6 spline (common tractor pto shaft) on the other side. Is this something that is commercially available or do i need to take it to a machine shop and have it milled. Or is there another way of making that connection. Thank you

A: We do not have a coupler half with 540 PTO spline. We are unaware of availability elsewhere. Please keep in mind that while these double chain couplers are rated for 73 Hp; that is at 4800 rpm with no more than 80.5 ft/lbs of torque passing through. At 540 rpm and 80.5 ft/lbs torque that limits these same couplers to only 8.25 Hp for safe transmission. Item 1-2459 is a solid coupler from 1" shaft to a snap hitch-type attachment for 540 PTO. This may serve your needs better.

Is there a difference between these sprockets and 1-2123-16-E?

A: The hubs are longer and the tooth points are flattened. That appears to be the main differences.
