Being a vane type motor pump, I've been led to belief is a hydraulic input will provide a mechanical output.
A: Because the vanes are retracted until the minimum 600 rpm is provided, this would be useless as a motor if only hydraulic flow is provided.

Could this vane pump be changed to ccw to run off 540 PTO to power a small backhoe? Thanks
A: This series of pumps is reversible. However, the typical minimum rpm for these pumps is 600. If run off 540 rpm PTO, this pump may not operate properly, and if it does it would provide less than one gallon a minute output. (.93).

Dear, Please suggest the compatibility of model Delta Power Hydraulic Pump/Motor Unit PM23 with water. Regards
A: That unit is a cast body with steel gears. It is not recommended for use with water.
