On this motor it list a case drain. On the motor I have which is a Danfoss DH-400 it doesn't have a drain to my knowledge, what is the purpose of the drain? Is it to vent pressure or to drain the fluid for maintence. Would it be ok not to have it hooked up. Thanks, William
A: The case drain is to remove excessive pressure from the shaft seal. It is supplied with a plug in it from the factory. Most applications do not require it to be used. However if needed you must connect an independent line to run back to the tank. It would have very little flow.
