I understood that hydraulic gear pumps and motors operated up to 4,500. P.S.I.? I am going to run a fluid cooler and wish to increase the pressure to 4,500. P.S.I.. Will these pumps do that? Thanks
A: Not all hydraulic gear pumps and motors are rated for that kind of pressure. This particular pump is rated for 3625 psi peak (intermittently) and would not survive at that pressure. It could fail catastrophically with damaging or deadly results. Check the manufacturer specifications for the pumps and motors you wish to use, as well as duty cycle ratings when designing a system to avoid any lethal failures.
