My tractor hydraulic system pumps 14 gpm at 2100 rpm. My sprayer pump needs 7gpm max. I want to use this flow divider to cut my flow in half without generating a lot of heat. Will it work since the work side will be at 2,000 psi and the other side will return to reservoir at probably 150 psi? What's with the relief valves between the sections in the flow divider. Thank you!
A: Based on the description of your application, installing item 9-4158-7 may be a better solution. That is a priority divider valve that will supply 7 gpm dedicated flow to one output, with the balance of the system flow going to another system or back to tank, regardless of input variation (as long as it's over 7 gpm). This particular model of rotary divider doesn't tolerate a pressure differential between the outlets in excess of 1000 psi max, currently set at 750 psi.
